Self-Publish.ai is under NDA, so this stays high-level. Here's the role I played and the work I owned.
Self-Publish.ai is an AI-native publishing platform that takes an author from blank page to published book in one place: writing, editing, cover design, formatting, audiobooks, storefronts, and distribution to every major retailer. Most authors stitch this together from a dozen disconnected tools. The bet was that one connected workflow could carry the entire journey, from first draft to a book on sale.
I led product design across the platform. Research, the module architecture for each stage of publishing, the interface and design system that holds it all together, and the systems underneath that users never see.
The work spanned the full arc. Designing a writing and editing experience that authors could trust with their manuscript. Cover and formatting tools that turn a draft into a print-ready book. A publishing flow that handles the messy reality of submitting to KDP, Apple, Kobo, and the rest. And the connective tissue, one consistent experience and one AI partner, across modules that each had their own logic and their own users.
It taught me that the hardest part of a platform this broad isn't any single feature, it's coherence, making seven different workflows feel like one product. That trust is the foundation of an AI writing tool, not a feature you add later. And that good defaults and a clear throughline matter more than piling on options.
